Accommodations and Hotels

Although Tourism started relatively late in 1974, the government has formulated some very unique laws on tourism in the kingdom, to ensure that the tourism industry is wholly ecological, environmentally friendly, and sustainable.

The Minimum Daily Package covers a minimum of three-star hotel accommodation during your stay in Bhutan, which allows for different types of accommodations, from nice hotels to homestay accommodation for an authentic local Bhutanese life experience.

All accommodation in Bhutan available for tourists is approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. All our visitors going on long hikes are also given with tents and any other camping equipment they may require. Visitors may expect comfort and traditional Bhutanese hospitality regardless of where they stay.

Hotels

All Hotels in Bhutan are rated according to a National 5 Star rating System.

All tour operators must provide their guests with a minimum of 3 Star accommodations, so you can be assured of your comfort while you traveling with us.

Most hotels provide their guests with Television, Room Service, Fitness Centers, Spa, and Wi-Fi. However, the exact services available will vary from hotel to hotel.
In order to ensure that all visitors to Bhutan receive high-quality accommodations and services, we have initiated a 5-Star Rating System that classifies the various hotels and resorts operating in the country.
The system referred to as the ‘Hotel Star System’ and it ranks the accommodations on a scale of 1-5 stars based on an exhaustive set of criteria.

Based on this rating system, establishments are classified into:

There are various Guesthouses located around Bhutan. The guest houses is graded on the same scale as hotels. The exact services available can vary among Guesthouses.
